When I was a little kid, I always dreamt of Africa. I couldn’t get enough of my grandfather’s National Geographic Magazine collection, my NatGeo documentaries on VHS about the Serengeti and the Masai Mara and would always get lost in time and space while fantasizing about the enigmatic continent every time after watching films like Out of Africa, Gorillas in the Mist, and even The Lion King.
Finally in 2007 when I was 21, I was about to take a sabbatical in Namibia to become a safari ranger, but a motorcycle accident got in the way. Half a year later, I ended up living in the African Bush for two months while shooting Animal Planet’s Unearthed on its second season, where I won the title of Animal Planet’s Up & Coming Wildlife Filmmaker of the Year.
I have come back to Africa several times ever since. An obsession that turned into infatuation, that became love. A love that I’m passionate about sharing with as many people as I can.
When I was a little kid, I always dreamt of Africa… and I still do every day.
